In order to make this thing more cross-platform as DIC (attempts) to be as well, moving to .NET Core 2 and its related UI libraries should be considered.

Further notes:

  • .NET Core 2/3 does not have a cross-platform UI component. Everything is bound to individual platforms, most of them being Windows
  • The only component that would benefit at all from this move would be the library portion of the code, which doesn't actually change much if the UI isn't also cross-platform
  • This may end up having to wait until .NET 5 comes out due to the possibility of cross-platform UI work at that point in time.
