The issue

A few pressing plants (Sony) have their mastering ringcodes done backwards - Outer ring is Layer 0, inner ring is Layer 1. This has been confirmed to be the case for PS2 and PS3 discs (needs to be confirmed for PS4 & PS5.)

This likely also extends to several PC discs pressed by Sony, see Redump submissions 77411 (EU), 28971 (JP), 49280 (US).

Potential solution

Checking if the selected disc dumping profile is a Sony system, and inverting the Inner/Outer layer labels. This would solve the issue for PlayStation discs, however for PC this may not really be solvable.
