I made my OP short just for the impact and the humor that it brings, but now let me explain what the accurate translation should be.

Vous pouvez maintenant éjecter le disque en toute sécurité

This is the most accurate translation into "international" French from the original English text string, however it would be different if I had to translate into the familiar Québec French dialect for instance (and different in other French dialects too).

There are probably plenty more inaccuracies, but I haven't paid attention yet. This was just the most obvious one.

We have been seeking help with translations for a while now, none of the MPF dev team understand French, and support for French was added solely to help dumpers who are not comfortable with English. I hope you understand.

Please advise on which strings need fixing in this file:
https://github.com/SabreTools/MPF/blob/master/MPF.UI/Resources/Strings.fr.xaml

You are also welcome to help create a Québec French translation (only provide the strings that would differ from French).

Please also note that some strings such as button labels have a limited length to fit in the UI.

Ok, I've never edited a GitHub file before. Should I do "fork repository and edit file" or just "edit file"? I'll correct what I can find and also double-check in the actual MPF UI to make sure I have full context of what every string really is.

You can make a fork and edit there, or you can just edit the file in whatever text editor, up to you.

Thank you.

I need context. What is the "fast update label" box? (FastUpdateLabelCheckBoxString)

The current French translation looks weird but I don't actually know what it's supposed to be.

Is it basically an option that will not set a ISO name automatically? Does "Label" refer to the name given to the ISO file? I don't quite understand it.

Label is referring to volume label, which is used for setting the default dump file name/path. It's fast because it only updates the name of the dump, rather than the entire 'Scan for Discs' process which searches for new drives etc.

Ahh, I get it. In French we don't use the word "label" to refer to a disc's "title".

Other than that, most of the text was acceptable. Some strings that I would prefer to have reworded but are still understandable and acceptable in their current form.

I'm not even gonna attempt to do a "fork" thing, so here's the 2 last strings to translate, you can implement them on your own. If you need to add new text strings in the future, send me a message and I will provide the translations from scratch. It's a pleasure to be part of the project!

FINAL FIXES:

EnableTabInputCheckBoxString
Activer la saisie des tabulations

FastUpdateLabelCheckBoxString
Mise à jour rapide du titre du disque

Specifically label here is the ISO9660 'Volume Label', not a disc title. So label is a technical term not a generic word for a filename.

Alright. But we are using this ISO9660 Volume Label for the output file's title, so I guess that doesn't make much of a difference in this context, given that the translation refers to the output file's name and not the original disc's name.
