Type

Support for a new media image format...

Description

The Expert Witness Disk Image Format family of images are typically used for forensic images. There are multiple individual formats in this family, and specific versions of each individual format.

Context

This would allow Aaru to be used with a wider variety of images, such as using it to read existing forensic images.

Adding my support for this feature request. This format has been widely used in the field of time-based media conservation due to support by favoured tools (e.g. Guymager, FTK) and advantages of format over raw (e.g. embedded metadata, compression..). It would therefore be important to some orgs to have support for this if they were to switch to Aaru tools and/or the Aaru Format.
