f6c7b97411 change s_read_whole_image() to call s_read_one_line() 
instead of duplicating the calls to the low level line reading funcs

1dc99397fe add clang-format. 
It's not exactly what I want, but it gets close.
Haven't actually used it to format the code, just adding it
as a reference.
