Hi,
When using CCExtractor to extract subtitles with latest version on Mac, and using default settings in the GUI, except for choosing either default or utf-8 encoding and srt format output, the file isn't readable on a mac or in windows (doesn't seem to be openable test file).
Any suggestions?
Here is the required info:

CCExtractor version: 0.89

In raising this issue, I confirm the following:

  • [x ] I have read and understood the contributors guide.

  • [ x] I have checked the pull requests tab for existing solutions/implementations to my issue/suggestion.
  • [ x] I have used the latest available version of CCExtractor to verify this issue exists.
  • [ x] I have ticked all the boxes in this section and to prove it I'm deleting the section completely to remove boilerplate text.

Necessary information

  • Is this a regression (i.e. did it work before)? no
  • What platform did you use? {Window/Linux/Mac} Mac
  • What were the used arguments? Just used the GUI and used default settings, except for output chose srt format and for encoding tried default and utf-8

Is it possible for you to provide us with the Subtitle-merged Video File, so we can check if it works with the main branch of CCExtractor?

This issue was reported with version 0.89, which is quite outdated. We've made many encoding fixes since then, and the current version is 0.96.

A sample file was requested 7 months ago to help investigate, but we haven't received a response.

Please try the latest version (0.96) and let us know if the issue persists. If it does, please provide a sample file so we can investigate.

Closing as stale - please reopen with a sample file if you're still experiencing issues on version 0.96.
