Hey Radzen Team,

First off, we love using Radzen Blazor and we’re super impressed by all the components you’ve built—thank you! We’d really like to adopt the Scheduler in our project, but there’s one feature we need before we can make the switch: an availability option.

What We’re Looking For

Separate Availability Events
Ability to define availability times that can exist on the schedule independently of any appointments.
Appointments Overlay
An option to view appointments layered on top of these availability slots.
Configurable Views
Easy configuration to show just availability, just appointments, or both together.

We’re hoping for something along the lines of how Google Calendar handles “free/busy” status vs. booked events (For easy searching: Google docs) This is particularly handy for scenarios like doctor or consultant schedules, where you always want to show when they’re free—even if there are no actual appointments.

Thank you so much for considering this request. We truly appreciate your hard work on Radzen Blazor and can’t wait to integrate the Scheduler once this feature is available!

This feature is already available with the current Scheduler. It's just that the setup exists outside the component. I'll give you an example of how I implement this.

I created a simple booking system for a company. They later requested the ability to have a portal page, that would show details of available slots for booking -

What happens is, the OnLoadData event will build a Dictionary<DateOnly, bool> of dates that I want to highlight in the slots. In my case, existing Bookings, in your case, Availability Slots. Here's my code to give you an idea -

    async Task OnLoadData(SchedulerLoadDataEventArgs args)
    {
        var dd = (args.End - args.Start) / 2;
        var nd = args.Start.Add(dd);
        if (nd.Year < DateTime.Now.Year)
        {
            initialdate = DateTime.Now;
        }
        else
        {
            appglobal.LastCalendarDate = nd;
            bookings = (await CustomerPortalService.GetBookingsNotMeets()).Where(b => b.Arrive >= args.Start && b.Depart <= args.End);

            hasAppointments = new Dictionary<DateOnly, bool>();

            foreach (Booking b in bookings)
            {
                var startDate = DateOnly.FromDateTime(b.Arrive.Value);
                var endDate = DateOnly.FromDateTime(b.Depart.Value);

                for (DateOnly d = startDate; d <= endDate; d = d.AddDays(1))
                {
                    if (!hasAppointments.ContainsKey(d))
                    {
                        hasAppointments.Add(d, true);
                    }
                }
            }
        }
    }

I then use this Dictionary in the OnSlotRender function to change the background -

    void OnSlotRender(SchedulerSlotRenderEventArgs args)
    {
        if (hasAppointments.ContainsKey(DateOnly.FromDateTime(args.Start)))
        {
            args.Attributes["style"] = "background: green;";
        }
    }

You could then have a switch so that you could show/hide the appointments at will. In my example, because the page is available for anyone to see, I don't want to display any appointments at all, so I just permanently set the visibility to hidden, i.e.

    void OnAppointmentRender(SchedulerAppointmentRenderEventArgs<CustomerPortal.Models.CustomerPortalData.Booking> args)
    {
        args.Attributes["style"] = "visibility: hidden";
    }

but you could control this with a simple switch (also a switch to control the Availability Slots).

Thank you for taking the time to create such an example. In your example you have the year view, where the background is green

Would this also be possible in the week view? We're specifically looking for the view where there can be multiple events 'on' the availability, like shown in Googles' views.
