** LOW PRIO **

heh

Task bar is at the TOP of the screen. For reasons unknown Windows occasionally sticks it's children's titlebars UNDERNEATH the taskbar.

Expected behavior

Alt-Spacebar brings up the little system menu and I chose 'move'.

Actual behavior

Terminal window gets into a state where system menu doesn't pop up with alt-space. Further, hovering on the task bar and right clicking on it's preview that pops up just below no longer functions.

It's not clear what terminal you're actually using, and you haven't given a version number. Alt+Soace definitely works for me in Windows Terminal and the old conhost terminal with the cmd and pwsh shells. It doesn't work when using a WSL bash shell in conhost, but that's issue #5833. Is that the same problem you're having?

Sorry, I've figured out the problem actually. Version seems to be 1.5.10271.0 from the Microsoft Store?

It's a bit silly, but I've been using Windows Terminal in fullscreen mode (alt-enter) to keep my cats from typing stuff places..

When the monitors are turned back on Windows decides new positions for all the windows and Windows Terminal is repositioned in a way that it thinks it's fullscreen, but is sized like it's not. In this configuration alt-spacebar doesn't function.

Well, that sounds like a bug to me. Thanks!
