Steps to reproduce

  • Open a few tabs
  • Enter full-screen mode F11
  • Close one or more tabs Ctrl+Shift+W
  • Exit full-screen mode F11

Expected Behavior

The tab bar should appear as usual upon exiting full-screen mode.

Actual Behavior

The tab bar temporarily retains the width filled by the tabs that were open when entering full-screen mode, stretching the remaining tab(s) to fill this width. The width remains this way until (a) a tab is opened or closed, or (b) the user's mouse leaves the tab bar.

The image below shows one tab filling the space of two, but the effect works with any number of tabs in either case (e.g. two tabs filling the space of five).

Note that this effect does not occur in reverse - i.e. opening tabs while in full-screen mode does not cause them to be crammed into a smaller-than-normal space.
