First off, getting you out of here. Press Ctrl+Shift+P to open the Command Palette, use that to open the Settings, and switch launch mode to anything other than "focus"

Now, here's another question - when did this start? Randomly? Were you changing the settings, and this seemingly started, unrelatedly?

We've had a few reports of this now, where people are finding themselves in Focus Mode without having changed it themselves.
