Long commands wrap around instead of going to a new line with WSL (Ubuntu) #18431

Steps to reproduce

Open Windows Terminal (Preview) and launch a WSL shell.
Keep pressing on a letter until it reaches the end of the line.

Expected Behavior

The line should continue until the end of the window, and then continue on a new line.

Actual Behavior

The line stops after an arbitrary amount of characters and then rewrites on the same line, overwriting the other characters.

Thanks for the report!
This is probably due to unguarded escape sequences in the prompt. https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/10553#issuecomment-873450551 and https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/10760#issuecomment-886786434 will give you more information.

Yes, this stack exchange post described my issue and the solution, it was referenced in #10553.
Sorry about the unrelated issue then, I swear I tried looking for a stack overflow/exchange post about this but couldn't find any... Anyway, thanks!
