Windows Terminal version

1.16.10261.0

Windows build number

19044.2728

Other Software

I have installed Ubuntu WSL in the microsoft Store but when it comes to the installation the system cannot find the file specified. I have already read the conversation about this issue and tried all the possible solutions including:

  • Changing the starting directory to %USERPROFILE%
  • Changing the command line to ''wsl.exe -d Ubuntu"

When I list the distributions, Ubuntu don't show up:

And when installing Ubuntu from WSL, this error is showed up:

And that's my settings.json if needed:
"guid": "{d7b20cea-47a9-518c-95a4-c8bd91e2e1c6}",
"hidden": false,
"name": "Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS",
"source": "CanonicalGroupLimited.Ubuntu22.04LTS_79rhkp1fndgsc",
"startingDirectory": "%USERPROFILE%"

Steps to reproduce

  • Install Ubuntu

Expected Behavior

Ubuntu distribution Installed.

Actual Behavior

Following Error:
WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80070002
Error: 0x80070002 The system cannot find the file specified.

This sounds like a WSL issue - mind filing it over at https://github.com/microsoft/WSL? Thanks!
