Steps to reproduce

  • Type some text until it gets wrapped (resize for a quicker repro)
  • Or past a long command and start editing it in the middle

Expected Behavior

Text should re-wrapped while editing

Actual Behavior

Sometimes the caret stays on the previously entered text, causing overwrite.

Note: apparently this doesn't affect the committed text when hitting enter so it's different from what is rendered.

No, the only extension is ohmyposh, with a large type I hit this quite often but it didn't happen a couple versions back. (not sure at what version this started to happen though)

Turns out this only happens with GitBash (2.44.0.windows.1) and on the second line. (in windows terminal or the the default console). Should this be closed as unrelated to terminal?

edit: there's a repro gif in this SO question which is the same issue reported here except that this repros in gitbash standalone.
