Expected Behavior

No errors, how do I make this go away?

Actual Behavior

This is what started happening to day on one of my Windows 11 machines and it keeps happening each time I open a new terminal...

Curious!

Can you share a copy of your settings.json file? You can get to it with ctrl+shift+comma (in a pinch. There are more straightforward and better-documented ways, this is just the easiest to recommend.)

I may have inadvertently fixed it, settings had the default profile set to to powershell. I changed it to command prompt and the problem went away, but this is what is in my LocalState right now.

If we can't find the default profile, we should have a "fix up action" in the settings loader to fix the selected default profile (silently).
