Description of the new feature

Since https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/pull/19044 removed http/https sources for profile icons my Ubuntu profile has an empty value as icon and therefore shows up as blank and the auto generated WSL profile has Tux as the icon which gets confusing if you have many distros.

I would like to point it to a known location handled by Terminal (ms-appx:///ProfileIcons/ maybe) so I can consistently get the same icon without using OneDrive/Dropbox etc

Proposed technical implementation details

you do you

Thanks for filing! Since we made a decision about #19075 that will allow distributions to offer their own icons for the time being, I'm gonna mark this one as a duplicate.

In general, we haven't chosen to include other distribution icons directly in our package because of the brand risk--we don't have permission from all of the distribution authors to redistribute their trademarks. 😕

@DHowett Sure no problem, is it this part you mean?

Fix support for ms-resource and ms-appx icons referring to packages outside Terminal

or do you mean that they can supply their potential tracking pixel for some time still 😅?
Could we opt-in to blocking HTTP(S) with settings please?

Ah understand the risk you mention. Part 2 in the plan will fix it for me I think I can just manually add the icon there and reference it myself?

I opened an issue here to get the bot to close as duplicate https://github.com/microsoft1estools/.github/issues/23 could you poke around internally and see if that could get some love? (And manually close as duplicate until the bot is fixed, but really the message it adds is worthless I understand what it says based on your reply already. I guess saved replies on GitHub could be used for the template response instead.)
