Description of the new feature

If I open three terminals like this, the content in the left terminal is perfectly readable as it has enough space, but the content in the right and center terminals feels too squeezed, which disrupts the user experience

In my opinion, there are two possible ways to solve this:

  1. have each pane's width to be adjustable
  2. When opening a third/fifth panel and so on, the widths need to be evenly distributed

This could also work for when splitting the tab both horizontally and then vertically or vice versa

Proposed technical implementation details

I wonder why when I asked Copilot on GitHub and it told me there was no such an issue
If it did refer me to that issue, I wouldn't create this one

Well, that's because copilot doesn't know things. It can only guess. And the context of 19000 issues is definitely too large to fit into any LLM.
