Windows Terminal version

Windows Terminal Preview Version: 1.24.2682.0

Windows build number

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.26100.6899]

Other Software

No response

Steps to reproduce

Scrolling (2 finger) backwards in history on laptop with touch pad is OK, but as soon as I start scrolling forward the window jumps to top of history and freezes for future 2 finger scrolling. Hitting Enter resets it. Does the same if I am running cmd or pwsh in the terminal.

Expected Behavior

two finger scrolling smoothly in either direction

Actual Behavior

Scrolling locks for 2 finger touchpad as described above

by "scrolling forward" do you mean you start scrolling horizontally to the right? @billchandler

No, just scrolling up or down on the trackpad. Scrolling backwards to see
history is OK, scrolling opposite direction is when it locks up. BTW, 2
other terminals I have dont lockup like this: cmder and wezterm. I have
been using wt.exe for years and this is the first time I have seen this
behavior.

is this after the new Windows 11, 25H2 update? I haven't updated yet and find no such issue.

I'd love to see a video of this to better understand what's happening. None of the folks on the team have been able to repro it!

(Also: are you using a precision touchpad? What sort of hardware do you have? Does it support gestures, or only basic scrolling?)

I plugged in an external Usb touchpad and don't see the issue with it. So I assume problem my old Dell 7537 touchpad precision driver. I was using two finger gestures for the scrolling. Laptop's touchpad does work fine with the latest released windows terminal, just not with latest Preview Version. So I'll just use it instead.

For what it's worth, the preview version will become stable in a few months. Unfortunately, it's still unclear what change has caused this...

Given that my external USB trackpad worked fine, the fault may be totally with my old Dell laptop trackpad. But I will keep an eye on preview version updates. I will try to attach video.
