Seems every update breaks the Cascadia font.
Fonts files are deleted on disk, but entries are left in the registry.

Windows then takes the location of the deleted files and things break.

  • Terminal setting complain about the missing font.

  • Font in Windows setting fail to render. Previously the window just crashed when you clicked on the font.
    Image
  • Browsers fail to use the font. Most noticeable on Stack Overflow, when the code blocks look different.
  • etc.

I have to remove the entry from the registry, to fix the issue.

Unfortunately, this Windows platform bug has plagued us since roughly 2019. More info here: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/19707#issuecomment-3719133987
