Windows Terminal version

1.23.20211.0

Windows build number

10.0.26100.0 Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26100.0

Other Software

No other software

Steps to reproduce

Since a server reboot, I am unable to open the terminal. I only receive the error message below.

Image

There is nothing in the event viewer that can point to the reason of the error. I am not sure what changed.

Tried to reset the app and reinstall from the latest stable version from github via msixbundle (version 1.23.20211.0). The terminal version installed before attempting to fix was the default one with the os.

Expected Behavior

Terminal should open.

Actual Behavior

Error message.

Seems this is not only related to the terminal app. I can't open Windows Security either, getting the same error.

Fascinating! Would you be able to submit feedback using Feedback Hub in the Developer Platform > App Installation (or equivalent?) category/? That should help collect the right logs.

For now, you may be able to use portable mode as a workaround.
