This article mentioned that Terminal will be available "next month" i.e. June, can you possibly tell us exactly when this will be ready? Will it then become part of a Windows update or must we manually build the thing?

@zadjii-msft - I did already read that, it doesn't refer to a release date which is why I asked the question. If you don't have an answer say so please.

The release date was like, 4 weeks ago. It's been on the store since roughly June 20th. We're not planning on shipping it "with Windows" at this time, the official way of getting it is downloading it from the store.

@zadjii-msft - Well I saw that but it's tagged as a "preview" which kind of tells me it's not actually released:

This very early preview release includes many usability issues, most notably the lack of support for assistive technology. Much of the internal work to support this is complete and it’s our top priority to support assistive technology very soon.

All I'm asking is approx when will this be ready and regarded as a stable completed product?

Ahhhhhh okay. Yea I clearly wasn't getting that. I've gotten more than enough "how do I download ??" questions on here, I'm a little quick on the "read the README" trigger :P

We definitely don't have a timeline we can share for an official 1.0 release. We'd like to make sure it's polished enough, and is has all the features one would expect of the 1.0 release of the Terminal. If we set a hard date, we're more than likely to need to cut features or polish in an attempt to make that date, which is something we'd like to avoid.
