it looks like currently clicking Settings will just open a json file with your default system "open with", for me it is Visual Studio(yes, it does really opening my VS directly),so you may try check this out.

It seems I don't have a default for json. It should probably open the menu that lets you choose what to open it with.

If you don't have a default json editor, it will eventually open the Open With... dialog, but that seems to have a really long time out before it actually shows itself.
