Steps to reproduce

  1. open settings.
  2. change the value of defaultProfile to {0caa0dad-35be-5f56-a8ff-afceeeaa6101}.
  3. restart windows terminal

Expected behavior

Open cmd as the default shell terminal.

Actual behavior

Still open powershell.

If I renamed the above settings.json to settings.json.old. Open windows terminal to create a new one and change defaultProfile to {0caa0dad-35be-5f56-a8ff-afceeeaa6101}, reopen it, then it worked.

So what's the problem of the above settings.json?

Open `windows terminal` to create a new one and change `defaultProfile` to `{0caa0dad-35be-5f56-a8ff-afceeeaa6101}`, reopen it, then it worked.
