Environment

Windows build number: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19041.329]
Windows Terminal version : 1.0.1401.0

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Windows Terminal
  2. Open Settings & Edit add following options in settings

"defaults":
        {

			"acrylicOpacity": 0.5

  1. Save settings.

Expected behavior

Change the opacity of Windows terminal background

Actual behavior

Use of acrylicOpacity have no effect

Also, I have a transparency effect on in windows settings as mentioned in this #3886

Note that you'll need to restart Windows Terminal for the acrylic option to take effect if you've just changed it. Also make sure your computer is plugged in - the acrylic effect can be disabled if your computer has entered battery saver mode.

@DHowett No, my calculator is also not transparent.

@j4james I did restart Windows Terminal just be sure. My laptop is plugged in & set on Best Performance mode. But still no transparency.

old windows cmd however I can set it to transparent and that works great.

If it doesn't even work in calculator, then I suspect it may just be that your graphics card doesn't support acrylic.
