Version
What version are you using?

  • Stable release (3.3.0)
  • WIP release (MPF.UI_net9.0)

Build
What runtime version are you using?

  • .NET 9.0 running on (Windows 10)

Describe the issue
when running MPF on a playstation 2 disc, the progrom works fine.
after running a playstion 1 disc, MPF recognised the disc and system, but kept giving this error.

i switched to another playstaion 1 disc, MPF refused to recognise either system or type and it kept crashing which forced me to kill it in task manager, the same thing happens when i run the program before inserting the disc and pressing scan for discs.

skipping type and system check yeilds the same results, as it crashes when i press "start dumping".

if the program refused to read all ps1 games, i would've blamed my dvd drive, but one of the discs got recognised just fine.

ps1 games were black, ps2 was the usual silver.

Additional context
im running on windows 10 and using an LG super multi dvd rewriter (Model: GH22NS40),

It is your drive, the PS2 disc is a DVD while the PS1 discs are CDs. It has an issue with CDs.

@mnadareski commented on GitHub (Apr 9, 2025):

What you're seeing is that your drive is not fully supported by the dumping program that MPF invokes, called Redumper. This is expected for any drives that do not have the required capabilities. Redumper, and therefore MPF, generally work off of this list for compatibility. If your drive isn't on that list, then it likely won't work with this program.
