Environment

Windows build number: 10.0.19042.0
Windows Terminal version: 1.6.10571.0

Steps to reproduce

Open Windows Terminal from jump list with any profile.

Expected behavior

Windows Terminal starts as quick using jump list as when started without using it.

Actual behavior

Windows Terminal launches a few seconds longer when using jump list compared to startup without using it.
I attached video below to better show what I mean (excuse me for Windows in Polish).

This issue occurs to me on both my desktop PC and my laptop logged to the same Microsoft account. But I was able to also reproduce it on other, local account on my desktop (I used this account to record the above video).

Huh. I wonder if that's the Terminal's doing, or explorer.exe's doing. It does seem like launching things from the jumplist is slow, but not that much slower than launching other apps from their jump lists. That makes me think that it's possible that explorer.exe is just plain slower at launching things from jumplists.

What about other applications, like Word or heck even File Explorer - do those apps have the same sort of delay?

Other applications don't have the same sort of delay. I tried with many of them, also File Explorer, Word and for example Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.
Opening from jump list for apps other than Windows Terminal is instantaneous.

We should file an issue upstream to get some traces of this. We've gotten a couple reports of this now, and I tend to agree this does seem slower than expected. Maybe someone on the explorer? shell? taskbar? team can help us trace why this seems so much slower.

EDIT: This is now MSFT:32283957
