Just like most Terminals in most Linux distros, macOS and other UNIX based operating systems, you can change the Terminal's profile and other settings but in a much graphical form (in a Window) where when you make a Terminal profile and setting change through that Window, and click "Apply" or "OK" to commit changes from that Window it will automatically write the profile and your settings in the settings.json file for you rather than you writing profiles and changing settings in the settings.json file yourself using any text editor like Visual Studio Code or Notepad.
