Environment

Windows build number: Microsoft Windows [Versión 10.0.18362.295]  
Windows Terminal version: Windows Terminal Preview v0.3.2171.0

Steps to reproduce

  • Install Windows Terminal from Microsoft Store.
  • Launch Windows Terminal.

Expected behavior

Open a Windows Terminal window.

Actual behavior

Application Icon apears on tray, but doesn't show any window. Process DesktopWindowXamlSourcein Task Manager shows "not respoding" status.

There is no error in event viewer. profile.json is not created.

Tried with version 0.6.2951.0 and it works now. Can't say what has fixed this issue for me.

I am having the same issue but can't seem to fix it. How exactlty have you fixed this issue?
I do all my development on WSL and since I can't open it, I'm stuck. I can't seem to do any work done.

I have to say I had the exact same issue with Terminal version 0.9.443.0, on Windows 1903 18362.720.

Same behavior: Windows Terminal (Preview) app is visible on the tray, icon's hover only show the DesktopWindowXamlSource as mentionned by the OP, and process shown as non-responsive.

After a good ol'system restart, the Terminal app launched again (but still...).

@bonniesimon Well, you can still open a terminal on WSL using cmd.exe or installing your distro's WSL app from the Store
